Society of American Period Furniture Makers

The mission of SAPFM is to pursue the following goals:

  • To create a forum for the understanding, education, and appreciation of American period furniture
  • To develop and encourage the use of standards and ethical practices in the reproduction and conservation of period furniture
  • To offer membership to all with an interest in period furniture
  • To assist members with the identification and location of resources including people or organizations having specialized expertise
  • To conduct public exhibitions for the recognition of members’ work


AAW

The American Association of Woodturners - AAW was formally organized in 1986 and has grown quickly to its current size with 11,400 members. 



Atlantic Tool Collectors Association

The Atlantic Tool Collectors Association was formed in 1994, with 21 charter members. Since then the membership has grown to more than sixty members from across Canada and the United States.

Our association was formed with a view to promoting public interest in the history and preservation of antique and collectible hand tools in the Atlantic Provinces.



CRAFTS

In 1977, a small group of tool collectors formed Collectors of Rare And Familiar Tools Society -CRAFTS.  The purpose of the Club is to encourage interest in early trades and industries.



EAIA

The purpose of the Early American Industries Association, Inc. is to encourage the study and better understanding of early American industries in the home, in the shop, on the farm, and on the sea.



 


OWWM

The Old Woodworking Machines web site is devoted to information on the history, restoration and use of vintage woodworking machinery. This site has been developed through contributions by many enthusiasts of antique iron.



THCKK

The Hardware Companies Kollectors Klub - THCKK is a not-for-profit organization formed in March of 1996. It distributes information and provide an interactive forum about historically interesting hardware companies.



M-WTCA

The Mid-West Tool Collectors Association is an international organization. Our purpose is the study, and preservation of the early tools, implements and devices used by our ancestors.



Guild of New Hampshire Woodworkers

The Guild of New Hampshire Woodworkers is an association of professionals and amateurs bound by a common interest in woodworking.



PATINA

The Potomac Antique Tools and Industries Association, Inc. is an educational, tax-exempt organization for people who have an interest in the tools, crafts or manufacturing processes of the past.



PAST

The club was originally formed as EAIA-West, the western branch of the Early American Industries Association (see the Links page) in 1968. Arnold Gordon and Matt Matheson invited potential members from a list compiled by John Fryberg of Los Angeles, as well as from EAIA sources. The first meeting was held June 2nd, 1968, at Arnold Gordon's home.



RMTC

The purpose of Rocky Mountain Tool Collectors (RMTC) regional club is to promote the collection, restoration, study, and understanding of the tools of early trades and crafts and to share this understanding.



SWTCA

The purpose of the Southwest Tool Collectors Association is to promote the collection and exchange of tools, implements and devices used by our forefathers, study and share knowledge concerning these objects.

was founded in 1991 and means: Crafts & Tools. 
One of our founders and sadly deceased Gerrit van de Sterre wrote the book about 4 centuries of plane making in the Netherlands, this book has been published bilingual (Dutch-English).
