Pit Saw Mill

Mule trains move the sawn boards.  The lead mule in each train wears highly decorated headgear.

Generally the boards are not totally separated but left attached at one end for easier packing.  It seems that board length is large determined by the best length for mule transport and that builders work around that limitation.
