This is an example of Spear & Jackson saw.

Features unique to this saw:

  • Bull nose toe end.

  • Design and placement for the nib.

  • Tapered blade:  Toe .038 - Heel .043

Blade and teeth condition.  Blade has small amount of shallow pitting.  Lightly cleaned and oiled.

Blade stampings under the curved Spear & Jackson shifts more than the one above it  to the left.

The Label Screw - Medallion:

Handle Fastening:  Two "large" brass screws, one "small" screw and one Label Screw - medallion.  Split nuts.  One screw and nut missing.

The Handle:  Beech handle has normal dings and scratches.  Handle has a light black stained area both sides.  Handle was cleaned with Murphy oil and polished with Minwax finishing.
