The router bit is cutting threads from scratch.
The turning dowel enters one side of the black jig containing
the router bit, hits the bit and as the thread cutting begins,
the thread engages the female threads on the far side of the
jig. Thread size is adjusted by the depth of the router bit to
fit the female threads cut by the taps.
The gizmo is called
The Beall Wood Threader.
