In catalog published in 1895 by The National Saw Company conglomerate Richardson's saw No. 7 is described as: Short Panel or Pony saw, Beech Handle, Polished Edges, four Improved Brass Screws, one Embossed. Fine Rubbed Blade. Warranted fully equal to any American or English Saw in the market. Etched and Warranted.
Length - 20", Price $16.00 per dozen. One-third dozen in box. Data for presented saw:
Blade Condition: Small amount of shallow pitting. Lightly cleaned and oiled.

The Handle: Beech. Small amount of wood loss to tip of top horn. 50 % original finish. Normal edge wear, dings and scratches cleaned with Murphy oil and polished with Minwax finish.
Screws: This saw has only 3 screws; one label screw (medallion) and two regular screws. We realize the discrepancy between the description in catalog and this specimen, however we do not have an explanation for this discrepancy. The Label Screw (medallion):
