Late last night I received an urgent message from Col. Richard J. Hucker. He emailed a photo of his latest garage sale find. The drill bit and the Millers Falls breast drill in the picture were made as a special order by Millers Falls. There is a faint marking on the bit to that extend with note: 1 of 3. We are asking for help in identifying original owner of this unique set. Since there were only three samples made, we hope to find other owners of this special production drill/bit combo. Our intent is to forward this information and photos to the Smithsonian Institution for further study and preservation of this great example of 2oth century Americana. We do appreciate your attention to this urgent matter.
